Maintenance after installation
Maintenance After Installation: Keep It Running Right
Once your injector parts are installed, proper maintenance is key to keeping everything running smoothly. Injectors work under extreme pressure, so even the smallest contamination can lead to serious failure. Always make sure the fuel system is clean, that means using fresh filters, checking fuel quality, and flushing lines if needed. Avoid revving hard on a cold engine, as injectors and internal parts need time to heat up and seal properly. Pay close attention during the first few hundred miles, if you notice hard starting, smoke, or misfiring, don’t ignore it. These could be early signs of installation issues or fuel system contamination. Never reuse old copper washers or sealing rings, as they can cause leakage and pressure loss. Most importantly, if something doesn’t feel right, stop and get it checked. A small issue left alone can damage not just the injector, but the piston, cylinder, or turbo too. RideComp recommends regular fuel treatment and system checks to protect your investment and extend the life of your injectors.
